Just a little something

Hey! So... I finally took the time to download our new software for our camera, and finally added some pictures!!! Life has been super busy for us, so I apologize for the zillions of posts that finally were published. I am totally did it to procrastinate what I need to do to get ready for tomorrow (lesson plans, grading, and all that jazz)... but oops it's time for bed. DARN! lol.

Well life is amazing, and we only have 10 weeks until our little one joins our family. I love being pregnant too... it is so awesome! Besides the getting up every hour to pee, the back aches, neck pains, getting kicked all the time (there is a dance party in my belly every night) and feeling extremely LARGE... pregnancy is amazing! I can not wait to be a mother! I think Jason is pretty excited too! :)

Enjoy these few pictures as you catch up on the life of the Osborn family...
My little baby bump... I can't believe he is only 2 lbs!!

Can you tell I'm pregnant?!

WOW, now I look very large...

life as we know it

Hey! Yes, we are alive... life has been its usual crazy self. Sorry for dumping all of these post on ya at once, but life as a teacher is a very crazy one. I feel like I never have time to stop and breath. Weekends are always for work and sometimes playing with friends and family. A little sad, but well... there you have it.

It's Martin Luther King DAY!! I must say that I am very excited. Mostly just to have the day off to relax. However, does a teacher ever get to relax? Of course not! I am surrounded by lesson materials, papers to grade, and report card comments to write. It would be very helpful if I had motivation to work on them right now or really do anything for that matter. All I really want to do is snuggle up by the fire with a movie and a nice long glorious nap. I'll probably never get around to that either, which is of course why I am online blabbing to the world about my wonderful complications.

This week has been filled with all kinds of craziness! It's funny that I can't really think of all the busy things I have had to do, but it's probably because pregnancy brain has taken over my life. I have to write things down as soon as I think of them or, they are completely gone. Never to reveal themselves again. One good thing we did do this week is date night! Our usual dinner and movie occurred  but ya know I think I would like to switch it up a bit next time. We need to go on some kind of adventure instead of worrying about how much this pregnant lady doesn't want to cook and how tired she is. If you have any amazing date ideas for us... we'd love to have them :) Unfortunately we have gotten a little rusty on the creative spectrum and have really lacked the energy or motivation.

You know... aside from feeling rather large (I have to keep telling myself each day, even while working out, don't worry Clarissa... big is beautiful!), not having energy ever, and having to pee all the time... being pregnant is actually quite nice.  I must say I have been a fan of my pregnancy, although the 2 am dance parties in my belly might be nice to get rid of.  I can't believe that we are going to have a little one here in 12 weeks! We bought a pack and play the other day, and I am just dying to put it up in Carter's room! I really am having a hard time waiting, but then again... going to the hospital and actually having him doesn't exactly sound like the biggest party of all time.

Jason and I had a wonderful weekend filled with friends, family, and a delicious turkey dinner. Can you believe that we actually cooked our very own turkey?! Well, I can't really take credit for it, because Jason is amazing and did the turkey cooking himself. I just helped with the easy stuff like potatoes, stuffing, corn, and pumpkin pie. The reason for all of this you ask? Simply just because we've had a turkey in our freezer since Thanksgiving. We decided to make it a dinner event and invite the family in Utah over. I am so glad we did! We had so much fun, and even though it took all day to get everything ready, the 15 minutes of eating was totally worth it! We also got a nice workout in afterwards with our Kinect. We ended up playing for probably a good 2 hours dishing it out on each other with boxing, track and field, volleyball, and soccer. I'm pretty sure we all slept good that night with full bellies and tired bodies. I can't wait to have another family dinner like that one :)

Well, enjoy reading about our lives these past 2 ish months. I will try to be better about keeping you updated... Until then, happy reading!

Jason's AMAZING turkey!

Jason is amazing... the end...

Our little dinning room ready for dinner! Yes those are homemade rolls!

I LOVE WEEKENDS!

This weekend was an epic one! We had so much fun, it is hard to know what to do with ourselves now that everyone is gone. We were able to visit our friends (who we've missed like crazy) in Logan, drive back for an afternoon nap and a visit from my two sisters. We played lots of kinect games, covered my living room floor is beds and blankets, and attended our ward together. It was so much fun!

Friday we drove up to Logan to see our really good friends Tyana and Carlos. We love doing things with those guys, and have really missed having them close by. I was so excited to see their little girl too, who is getting so big! She even learned how to climb out of her crib this weekend. We had so much fun with them eating pizza, playing monopoly deal, and watching a very interesting movie. We ended up going to bed super late, but the awesome thing about it was we didn't have to leave. Ha ha, sleepovers are the best!

We chilled at their place in the morning for a little bit, but had to make it back to our messy house in preparation for some family fun. My little sister Kira came to pick up her car she left here over Christmas break, and my sister Siehara and her husband decided to join in the fun. When we got home from Logan however, we ended up taking a nap and not really doing too much with cleaning the house. Once my sister Kira got here we went maternity clothes shopping for myself and ran to the store for some much needed ingredients. We decided to have Hawaiian haystacks for dinner.

While I was cooking dinner and getting things ready for Siehara, we had a little dog break into our house. Siehara found him wandering in the street and when they pulled into our place and opened the door, he just jumped in their car. He was well groomed, but didn't have any tags and we didn't want to leave him in the freezing cold single digit weather, so we let him come in the house and play with Bandit. After calling animal control, the pound, and the police we finally got someone to respond. Jason ended up taking the cute little thing to a shelter for the night. I'm really thankful we didn't need to keep him over the weekend, he wasn't fixed and peed all over. Bandit ending up lifting his leg a couple of times when he left too, which was not cool.

The rest of the night we rented Wii games and Kinect games and played them all night. It was really fun, and I loved seeing my living room full of people again. It made me think of our apartment in Boise and how much fun we had with having the whole family stay at our place. I loved it.

Well, today we attended church which switched to 9:00 am. We didn't get much sleep, so our afternoon consisted of sleeping. Kira left with her car full of people, and then we had the missionaries take her place. They came over to eat with us and dinner actually ended up tasting pretty good. After dinner Siehara left, and the dread of Monday set in. I'm especially dreading it because I have nothing ready for my 3rd graders on Monday. Oh well, at least I had a great weekend!

A magical snow day!

Everything magical happens on a snow day right? Ha ha, see that's what I thought, but it isn't so much fun when you are 26 weeks pregnant, and love your job so much that being away from it kind of stinks. It is so funny how I always want school to be canceled, but when it actually is I think of all the things my class could have gotten done, how much we're going to need to make up, and what I am going to do with out my kiddos for the day. Here are my snow day adventures for ya.

First Jason and I both got to sleep in... until 7 ish. Then we just had to get up because I was getting all kinds of calls from the district to assure me that the schools were in fact closed. Every half hour my cell phone would go off with either someone from my school calling, or a recording from the district. I love how our sleeping in is never passed 7 unless we are super lucky. Then again I have a very active little boy in my tummy who seems to always hate it when I'm trying to sleep. It think he is training for some kind of marathon during that time.

Once we were up, we made a big delicious breakfast, got all snugly on the couch, and Jason played his XBOX for the next couple of hours. I'm starting to think that maybe it wasn't such a good idea to get him a toy for his birthday... I suddenly got a burst of energy (which doesn't happen to often) and started cleaning our house like mad. I was a little sad when I suddenly got really tired again and hadn't even made it to the kitchen. Well... that's when I got to take a nap. Jason left for work, and I laid on the couch for some much needed sleep, at least that is what my body was telling me, not so much Carter. I actually slept with out getting up to go pee, or getting kicked in the stomach, for 4 whole hours! It was wonderful, but once awake I still had no energy. What do you do when your body is way to tired to do anything? Well, you talk on the phone and lay around of course. I got to talk to my best friend Kyra for an hour, tried working out (didn't last too long, maybe 20 min), and thought of ideas for dinner.  Don't worry though, I actually made dinner!

Standing out in the snow :)
The rest of the night was spent watching Jason play ward basketball, and actually planning some lessons. I was mighty thankful for 10:00 pm to come around, when we could climb into bed again. Now it is Saturday, and I think it might be a repeat of yesterday... we're having some friends come over for desert and games though, so maybe it will be a little more exciting :) Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Birthday Jason!

So... Jason was able to have another epic birthday this year! His birthday is December 31st, so how can you not have an epic birthday?! It was super fun, and although things looked like they wouldn't be as perfect as I would have liked, they turned out even better! Here's the story...

Jason had to work on his birthday, poor guy, but he loves his job and so I really don't think he minded all that much. I on the other hand was a little sad I couldn't be with my man on his birthday. That's just me being selfish I guess... so I decided I would dedicate the whole day to making his birthday the best ever!

First we took our little Bandit to the vet together for a regular check up. That is when things started looking a little down. We found out our stinky, cute, little beagle has rotting teeth that are making him age like crazy. That is why most of his face is turning white, he sleeps all the time, and his joints are getting stiff. To save our little puppy we scheduled a day for him to get put out and get all those nasty teeth pulled and others cleaned. It was sad news to hear, and I ended up almost passing out again. The vet thought it was because of some pictures he showed me, but ladies who are prego.... never ever stand in one place for too long with out bending your knees or moving around. I was so embarrassed  because this was my 3rd close call to almost passing out in public.

As soon as I got Bandit home, operation awesome birthday began. I got out my sister's cake decorating kit that she happened to leave here, got out all the ingredients I needed, and started making the best cake you have ever seen in your life... at least that is what it was supposed to be. See Jason really wanted an XBOX for his birthday, and I really didn't want to get him one (even though I did). I decided I would make him a cake that looked exactly like an XBOX and tell him that his cake was his gift. I was excited for him to have strawberry cake too, which after being opened turned out to be chocolate instead. I baked the cake, put it on a piece of cardboard so I could start decorating it, and went to put it in the freezer to freeze the pudding in the center. When I went to go put the cake in the freezer it wouldn't fit. I thought I could hurry and frost it and then stick it outside since it was 10 degrees. So, that is what I did and it looked awesome! I should have taken a picture of it before I put it out in the snow, but I wasn't thinking and got ready for the rest of the day instead. When I came back, the cake had completely melted and looked like a big white and chocolate heap of a mess. I guess my 10 degrees is really 25. I had to take the cake with the tin foil, throw it back in the pan I baked it in, and completely re-do everything. Jason didn't get his XBOX cake, but he got a cake with a sad looking controller and his name on it.

That night we had pizza with my sister and her husband, played games and had lots of fun. While the boys were out getting the pizza, we wrapped Jason's awesome Pocket Simon (my sister had laying around) and his real gift of course. When it was time for him to open his gift, his face was priceless. You could tell that he was a little disappointed with his totally retro gift (probably because I forgot about batteries). When his XBOX came out however, he was like a little boy at Christmas. He was so excited!

Well the rest of the night, we ate junk, went to Walmart to see if they had any Kinect games, and lit off fireworks in the freezing cold. We ended up playing games until 3 am and slept until 11 am the next morning. It was pretty much the most amazing birthday ever... at least I thought so. One lesson learned however, make sure the cake fits in the freezer if it needs to go in there. Then you will have the epic cake you were dreaming of instead of a big mess in the snow. Happy 2013 everyone!!

The cake before... YUM!

My not so awesome creation...

Jason got a pocket SIMON!!!

Or could it be an XBOX?

Crazy Sisters!

A Very Merry Christmas!

Christmas is my absolute favorite! I love the break I get from school, the time I get to spend with my wonderful family, and most of all.... time with JASON! I can't believe it came and went by so fast! Even though it might be sad, we still have the wonderful memories we made to hang on to.

Well, the last week of school my 3rd graders didn't make me rip out my hair. In fact we really had a good time and I was almost sad to see them leave me for a week and a half. Key word there is ALMOST because I could hardly wait for us to make the trek back home to see my family. I was so ready for the break to just relax and forget about teaching (which never happens by the way... that's all I think about besides having a baby). I was secretly excited to show off my little baby bump to some new faces too :) We had our last ultrasound just before leaving on our big trip and I could hardly wait to share it with grandma and grandpa to be. Carter is 1 lb now and super active! We can hardly wait to meet him in April!!!

Our trip to Washington was super short, but so worth it! We really had a wonderful Christmas, and even with all the snow, we didn't die on our way back to Utah! There were a few close calls with cars sliding across lanes of traffic in front of us and tons of accidents on the side of the road, but we made it safe and sound. It was so good to be with our family, and our little one made out like a bandit. I can already tell our sweet boy is going to be the most spoiled child in all of history. He already has tons of clothes, toys, a car seat, stroller, blankets, mittens, socks, and the list goes on. It will all be so very appreciated when he is finally here!

Next on our adventure list is Jason's 28th birthday! I am super excited for some odd reason, but it is probably because I can hardly wait for him to open his gift. It is pretty sweet and put me through the embarrassment of having our card declined lol. I just hope he likes it as much as I think he will. I am also planning some awesome surprises for his big day, so we'll see how it all goes.

In the freezing cold looking at lights :)

His glasses make him sexy! The braces add a little too...

Well... the last few days, I have been grocery shopping, planning a birthday party, cleaning my house, de-junking to get the nursery ready, and avoiding the planning of lessons like the plague. It really sucks when I have absolutely no energy to get anything accomplished! Taking 2 naps a day is a little ridiculous too... Welcome to the 2nd trimester I guess... right? Well thanks for listening. I'll let ya know how Jason's big birthday bash goes. Until then... Happy 2013! This next year is going to be incredible!
