Well... I'm back, and boy has the last week been pretty eventful, exciting, and awesome! The Ballantyne's have an epic family reunion every 2 years. They are the most organized week of fun you'll have with huge group of people who happen to all be related in your life! I have always looked forward to being with my amazing family, and seeing those who live far away. The last reunion Jason was in school and I unfortunately had to work, so we were super excited when we found out we'd be able to make it for at least of couple of days.
Thursday morning we left our house and headed to the airport at 4:30 am. Our morning was a whirl wind because we were honestly running so late. It doesn't help that we were at our friends place until 10pm and were so excited sleep was kind of out of the question. I had to make sure everything was packed and ready to go, which really ended up doing us no good :). The flight was so quick, but boy was I not happy. Flying with allegaint air, you don't get to pick your seat unless you pay for it and what can I say, we are cheap so we didn't pay for our seats. That came to bite us later when we were seperated and the lady I happened to be sitting with actually paid for her seat and wouldn't let Jason and I sit together. Yes... I was a little bitter, but an hour flight by myself was really nothing to get mad over.
Walking off the plane and into Idaho was amazing! The weather was PERFECT and I could actually breath! For a couple of seconds I think I was actually cold. It was awesome! We then took a shuttle to get our rental car, and we were off driving into the beautiful scenery of Idaho.
I will never forget the looks on everyone's face when we drove into Camp Smokey. Our rental car was a 2012 hyundai accent with Wyoming plates. No one knew who we were until we pulled up to my parents truck and asked if they had seen any Ballantynes running around. Everyone commented on our new car while we were there and asked how we were liking Wyoming even though they thought we were in Vegas. It was pretty funny.
Anyways, as soon as we arrived it was lake time! Alturas Lake was right across the street from our camp. We had tons of toys to play with too, including kayaks, a motor boat, a sailboat and an awesome dock to jump off of. Of course the first thing we did was jump off the dock and get our bodies ready for some hard core skiing and tubing. I was so sore the next day from all the tubing we did, and Jason got up on skis for the first time! We had so much fun! I think one of my favorite moments was when Jason and I were scheming to push one of my cousins off the dock. It ended with Jason totally not following our plan and tackling him into the water.
After several hours at the lake, I headed back to camp with the family I lived with during my student teaching. My aunt and uncle are incredibly awesome, and they have the sweetest kids! We were so bummed when our assignment changed from New Plymouth Idaho to Las Vegas, just because we wouldn't be near these guys. I really liked visiting with them, and even got a book read to me by the cutest 8 year old girl ever! She's a sweetie!
Dinner followed soon after, and it was so awesome to just look around and see everyone from our wonderful family together. All together there were about 50 of us so we were quite a sight. I got to see my brother too, and visit with him and his wife for a little bit which was awesome!
Our reunions include firesides, talent shows, olympic games, usually someone getting hurt, and organized fun through out the day. They are quite epic, and from my experience and others I have taken with me.... they have never experienced anything like it. After dinner we had a fire side and slowly made our way back to our cabins. Jason and I were so exhausted we fell asleep 5 min. into The Lorax which was our first attempt of watching it together since getting it. We decided to watch it simply because we didn't want the day to end, but I guess we didn't really have a choice.
Friday was pretty fun. It rained most of the morning, and we decided to take a trip into Stanley with our immediate family to check out some white water rafting. That ended with us just visiting, calling all over for places that would take a group of 8 on Saturday, and eating ice cream (well some of us). When we headed back, camp was completely empty, and so we went exploring. We ended up finding a ghost town called Sawtooth City, which was about 120 years old. You could really tell, because all of the buildings were rotting away and in ruins. With that, we took a little walk around a historic ranger station and headed back to camp.
Jason and I were totally falling asleep in the car was we drove back to camp, and so our plan was a 20 min nap and hittin the lake with everyone else. Unfortunately our 20 min nap turned into a 3 hour nap and a call that dinner was almost completely gone. We were supposed to help cook it too! We laughed about sleeping that long, but I really wish we would have made it down to the lake.
After dinner was our legendary talent show. We have so many awesome talented people in the Ballantyne family. It is so fun to see everyone share their talents with each other. Jason and I were pretty stoked about this talent show too, because we actually learned a piano and guitar duet (a video will be coming soon). However, we ended up not having a guitar, and the piano was way out of tune, so we did skits with the family instead. We were the commercials in between talents and it ended up being a ton of fun.
Soon after our awesome show, we said good night to a few and stayed up and visited with others. Finally around 1 am we had a second attempt at The Lorax and ended up falling asleep before it even started.
Saturday was a sad day, becasue we had to say goodbye to everyone. Usually everyone heads back to Grandma's house to finish up the weekend together, but not this year. Everyone was headed home, and although our flight wasn't until Sunday we had to head back to Idaho Falls. Luckily my immediate family was able to have one last bang before saying our goodbyes. We all went white water rafting!
White water rafting was pretty awesome! We only had a couple of class III rapids which kind of stunk, but we had lots of entertainment along the way. The boys were in kayaks and upon our first rapid, had a casualty. We thought for sure it was Jason, but once Jason and Tain made it through we were super surprised to see Dyelan floating down the river on his back. He kind of hit the rapid sideways, and well I guess that's not the best way to stay dry. Half way through our trip we stopped to jump off a rock, we stopped for a snack a little later, and continued on our journey. I got to be in a kayak with Jason the second half of the trip, and if I have any advice to give about rafting... it's to take a kayak because they are so awesome!
Our 3.5 hour trip turned into 5 hours and by the time we were on our
way to Idaho Falls to see a good friend, we were super late! Jason tried
to close that gap of time, but while I was reading the second book of
The Hunger Games looked up to find a police officer with his lights on
behind us. Jason recieved his very first speeding ticket by going about
15 over the speed limit. A word to the wise, even if you are on country
roads in Idaho, you can still get pulled over!
Our night
ended with eating pizza with our friend Kyra Rankin, watching Catch Me
if you Can, and dreaming of our new house in just one weeks time. First
we would have to survive being parents to 4 children for a week...
Sunday
morning we attended a singles ward, drove to the rental place, said
goodbye to our sweet ride, and sat next to each other in the plane! A
nice lady actually gave up her seat so we could be together even though
it meant sitting by a lady with her baby. We were pretty happy, and
actually got through most of The Lorax on our third attempt.
Well ladies and gentlemen, we are back in Vegas and found out yesterday that we no longer need to be parents. We watched kids for 2 days and ended up being able to go home. This made me excited, because our move is now moved up to the 19th!!! In just 4 days we'll be back in Utah!

A New Place to Live
After talking to about 20 crazy people, only being able to schedule 3 appointments with houses, almost signing a lease until we actually saw the place, and praying like crazy that we'd find a place for us, we did it! We are moving back to Utah on August 19th and I can hardly wait!

Oh my WOW!
WARNIING: This post might be a little long. Prepare yourself to laugh, cry, and maybe even jump as you read about one of our best weekends in Las Vegas and other states..... Continue reading... if you dare!
Our last official weekend in Vegas went out with a BANG and as our life continues, things have gotten so much sweeter!
With our last official weekend, we wanted to do everything on our bucket list. We are still going to be here for 2 more weeks, but we'll be extremely busy and getting ready to move... yet again :) What was on our bucket lists you might ask?... well, there were WAY TOO many things on our list! We decided to just do a couple, and maybe save the others when we come back for a few visits (hopefully). We each got to decide 1 thing we absolutely wanted to do before leaving our Vegas home behind. I chose to see a show, and Jason chose to go have a blast at Hoover Dam and Lake Mead! Here is the story of our exciting adventures...
Friday night came far too quickly. We had been looking at houses like crazy to prepare for a future move back to Utah. Finally a little sunshine broke through and we were filling out an application for a house! I was relieved, but the process was a little crazy and soon we found ourselves a little behind for our fun filled evening. With sandwiches in hand and zooming down the road to the Venetian, we prepared ourselves and talked excitedly about our very first show in Las Vegas Nevada. I got tickets to Phantom of the Opera for a really good price and it just so happened to be on my bucket list and that ladies and gentlemen was the start of an amazing night.
While waiting for the play to begin, we made ourselves comfortable with Godiva chocolate and we had ourselves a little fun with taking pictures. Suddenly we were yelled at that no photography was allowed in the theater, the lights dimmed, and the most amazing show began. Both Jason and I were sucked into the world of the Phantom and were blow away by the performance. The stage was incredible, there was fire, fireworks, flashing light, falling chandeliers, beautiful songs, amazing effects that you'd never believe and many gasps from the audience. It was by far the best thing I had ever seen, and when the lights came back on and performers took a bow, the whole audience was standing. I was sad to see the play end so soon and find our Godiva chocolate wrapper empty...
With the surprise of the show only being and hour and a half, we suddenly had a very early night with endless possibilities. The night was young and we were not about to waste our last date night Friday in Vegas on being old people and going to bed early. That is when we decided to visit all of the Casinos we wanted to visit, but never had time. Our first stop was New York, New York to take pictures by the bridge. Because it was at least a 2 mile walk down the strip (seemed liked 2 miles) we took the car and parked it at the Monte Carlo. As we walked down the street, we heard awesome music and decided to dance our way to New York. Ok it was more like I danced my way, and Jason gave me weird stares, but I LOVED it :).
On our way to our chosen destination, I saw M&M world and so we made a little bit of a detour. It as more for just kicks and giggles, but I found myself in heaven when we got there. You see, my weakness is M&M's. I LOVE them, mostly because they are chocolate but also because they are just awesome! We couldn't believe all the stuff you could buy and the colors were amazing! We even got a couple of FREE samples if you can believe that. I think my favorite part was looking at all the little kid clothes :P lol. Before we actually cracked and bought some crazy insane M&Ms we had to run away!....
When we arrived at New York, New York, the adventurers inside of us wanted to check out the Manhattan Express Roller Coaster!!! We were ready for a thrill seeking ride until we got in the insanely long line. For $14 a ride, we were not about to wait 5 hours and waste the time we had in Vegas standing and waiting. Instead we decided to go on a deadly motorcycle ride in the arcade. Now I know why some people might take their kids to the strip. New York, New York was kid heaven with all of the arcade games you could want. It was like Chuck E. Cheese on steroids!! Kids were everywhere spending all of their parents money. It was definitely the kid version of a casino.
With the excitement and disappointment of not being able to put our adrenaline cravings at bay, we exited New York, New York and made our way to the Luxor. A friend of our works there, and we kind of wanted to check out the interesting building that you can see from miles around. The pyramid is acutally the hotel part of the casino, and so we weren't able to go in but you could see inside and that was awesome! One day I think we'll stay there, but we shall see.
With that, our legs were tired, our bodies aching (really from our intense work out the day before) and with a couple of yawns, we made our way back to our car at the Monte Carlo. We then made our way home to find our pillows and crashed at 2:00am. What an awesome night to have as our last out on the town :)
Saturday started with a late morning for us, but it was glorious! Sleeping until 8am has never been more amazing! With that we showered, got our swimming stuff on, ate a breakfast for kings, and made solid plans to go on a Hoover Dam tour, have a picnic, swim in Lake Mead, and end our night with a concert on Lake Las Vegas. Things don't always happen as we plan though, so we headed off in search of more adventure.
Before we hit up the HUGE Hoover Dam, we were able to walk across the tallest bridge of the Western Hemisphere. We walked from Nevada all the way to California in a matter of 1/2 hour. It was pretty awesome, although I must say that I am not a huge fan of the height. It was insanely high, and when we stopped to look down in the middle of the bridge, a semi drove by and hooked making me jump out of my skin. Jason got a good laugh out of it, but I think it scared him a little too lol.
The Hoover Dam was incredible. We are crazy people who love learning while on vacation (ha ha it feels like vacation everyday it's hard to say it's really not). We got to watch a movie, take a guided tower down to the generators that supply an insane amount of electricity to power miles of cities including Las Angeles, and we got to walk on top of the dam. It was really neat, but boy did it wear us out! I think I walked off about 5 lbs just walking across the bridge and going on the dam tower.
Lake Mead was minutes away, and after eating our picnic in 107 degrees we were ready to jump in the water. I prepared my body for the shock of my life to jump into ice cold water. Funny thing is, I didn't think about how were were in Boulder City, in a lake, outside in 107 degree weather, and that it would probably the warmest water I have ever swam in. Well that's what it was, the warmest water I have ever swam in! It was weird how much it cooled us off though. After jumping in a few times, we grabbed our boogie boards and headed out into the water to have a standing contest. I think the boogie boards won, because Jason and I were bucked off our boards about a million times each. It sure was a good work out, and after seeing our hands and feet were beyond prunes, we got out to dry off and get ready to head over to Lake Las Vegas.
As I said earlier, life has a funny way of surprising you. We both had the sudden urge to just go home, plop ourselves on the couch, make some shakes or smoothies, and watch The Lorax with our new roommate Becca. See our roommate Heidi left for the Dominican Rebulic and had her friend stay in her room. I felt really bad though, because even though we were both home all day during the week, I never saw her come out of her room. I was so excited when she joined us, but totally felt bad when I made the worst milkshake ever! It was more like chocolate milk, and that my friends is why I only let Jason touch the blender. While we tried to get The Lorax to play on the T.V for about 1/2 hour (we only had it on our computer) Becca decided to check the movies on demand. That's when we suddenly found ourselves watching Crazy, Stupid Love with delicious smoothies (I had the chocolate shake wannabe).
After the movie at 1:30 am we climbed the stairs to our room and Jason had the sudden urge to check his e-mail. See he had been interviewing for an incredible job all week and was waiting to hear back about the last one. The last interview was supposed to be in person, but the company worked with us and made it possible for him to do it over the phone. With that interview we promised the next one would be in person. Jason's heart was pumping and it was then that he found an invitation for that last interview in person on Monday. We were thrilled! We were so excited we looked for plane tickets right away. We almost cried when we saw the price, but then weighed other options and laughed when we finally realized Jason could drive, leave Sunday, stay with my sister that night, and attend his interview Monday morning. I think it was about 45min of excitedly talking about the future, that we decided I could go too! There was no reason I needed to stay (I don't work during the summer) and we could look at houses!!!! With that we made our final plans and went to sleep.
Sunday morning while I got ready and packed, Jason wrote down things that he could say in his interview. We got dressed for church super quick and went to go say goodbye to the wonderful friends we have made while being here. I hate last Sundays, and this was our 5th one in the span of 2 years (since we've been married). It is so hard to get to know so many amazing, wonderful people, get attached and then say goodbye. We almost thought of just skipping it because of that reason, but we knew that we had to see everyone one last time. I really felt sad as I told my friends I'd miss them, and even when I sat by a fun little lady I had just met and started to get to know during relief society I almost cried. We also found out that some people from BYU-Idaho had just moved in and we knew them! Even though our hearts are sad, I know that we will be able to keep in touch and we will be blessed with their friendships for a very long time.
After church I made lunch while Jason packed his things. We raced around making sure we had everything we needed, talked to Becca about us leaving, and zoomed out the door. We then started the very boring 6 hour drive to Orem, UT.
It was awesome to see my sister and her husband, but we didn't really get to spend too much time with them. When we arrived we played the farming game for a couple of hours and then we all headed off to bed with the anticipation of the next day.
Now, I won't tell you too many details about the next day because there are way TOO many! Long story short, Jason had a good interview, house hunting was both annoying and exciting, we are no longer going to be homeless in a couple of weeks, the house is even better than we had dreamed, and the drive home was just as boring at the drive there. We Osborns are really crazy, but life has been so very good to us! To save you from your eyes burning, I'll give you all the details about the adventures that day (well the ones that matter) another time. Until then, I'm off to change the oil in the car. Have a great week!

A Weekend of Service
So... how crazy were the Osborn's this week? Well... they were mighty crazy (some might think). We did something that we both LOVE to do, and that's service. We love to help others with the talents and strengths we have. It brings us more happiness then anything else we do together.
During the week, we were able to have a family join us for family home evening. Family home evening is something we try to do with each other every week, but it is so much more fun and motivating when you get the missionaries and a family involved. It's simply time to spend with the fam having fun and learning :) Jason had an amazing lesson and I was able to do the activity, which turned out to be a hit. It was awesome to see the family's competitiveness come out as we raced around the house with crazy clothes, spoons, and forks, all to see what was wrapped in newspapers. It was wonderful to invite such an amazing family into our home and get to know them better.
We also made some new friends this week. We had them over for a double date and played some crazy games of Monopoly Deal and Phase 10. With our time in Vegas wrapping up, I must say that I am sad to leave. We have made so many friends and have enjoyed our time so much here, there will be many tears on the day we drive away. It is incredible how much of an impact a place can have on you from the people that live there. We will always look back to our times in Vegas with huge smiles and wonderful memories.
Friday during the day I was able to help a family clean their house. Even though I was wiping down blinds, I got to know them better and it was kind of fun. Especially with their crazy children running around. Friday was a very laid back night with the Olympics starting. Jason watched the opening ceremonies while I took myself out on a date with a delicious smoothie from the Tropical Smoothie Cafe. YUMMY! Then we both kind of did our own thing until the early hours of the morning.
Saturday started off with basketball and softball. Ha ha, those aren't really things of service, but I got to know some really amazing people and Jason was able to have fun doing his very favorite thing (play sports). Afterward I said goodbye to Jason for a little girls time at a book party. Teachers LOVE books, and so it was a little dangerous. My wish list did slim down from 15 things to only 2 so I guess I did pretty good :)
Once I got home, we made delicious sandwiches and got into our Sunday best. We then went on our long trek to visit the Las Vegas Nevada LDS Temple. The hour drive was 10 million times worth it!!! I am pretty sure I have a new favorite temple now too! It was so beautiful! Everything in its simplicity took my breath away. We really enjoyed our time as we attended a very small session.
Soon after we were done we had to rocket out of there. I was sad we weren't able to stay and take pictures, but I had Jason promise me we would return before we leave Vegas behind. Our next adventure was a wonderful evening with 3 angels as their parents left for a much needed date. We watched the sweetest 1.5 year old, 4 year old and 11 year old. I hope their parents aren't angry when they find out we played dodge ball in the house LOL. When their parents returned me wanted to wrap them up and take them with us. It was so wonderful to give service to them and do something we love, which is chillin with kiddos. If you haven't done something for someone else with out expecting anything in return, I challange you to do it this week. See how it makes you feel, and make it a habit to serve those around you.
My Jason is now serving me a delicious dinner :) So until next week, have fun with serving others!

I didn't think we'd end up here...
Oops. I didn't know that an awesome weekend could end up with us in... well, the picture explains it all. I promise we're not guilty though. To prove it, I'll tell you everything we did this weekend. Then you can decide for yourself...
Thursday -- This is when the fun really started. I had hurt my knee yet again, and was going crazy with not running for 7 days in a row. I did however have to clean the house in preparation for who was coming. That evening once Jason got home, we ran to the airport and picked up our dear friend Kyra. We were so happy to see her and excited that she would come experience the Vegas life like we know it. Maybe we went a little too far.
That night we got to catch up, and ended up making enough spaghetti to feed a small country :). Kyra went a little over board on the noodles, but the dinner was delicious! We really wanted to go for an ice cream run, so the three of us headed off on an adventure to Smith's and ended up getting some amazing double fudge brownie ice cream. I know your mouth just watered. Along with that we each got a girl scout cookie crunch bar and I'll admit, that was the most sugar I had had in a very long time. You have to splurge sometimes, so it was totally worth it!
When we got back to the house, Jason posted his shiny new ipod touch on craigslist (he won it at work. It's a beautiful white 4th generation, only $200 OBO in case you're interested lol), While Kyra and I watched Pawn Stars with our roommate Heidi. Once Jason went to bed, the girl party started with movies and talking. We had a pretty good time, and I'm glad we were able to get to know Heidi a little more.
Friday -- With Jason at work, it was a beautiful girls only kind of day :) I actually slept in! We made yummy raspberry waffles, and then started creating our epic road trip for the last twilight movie. It's funny, because although the movies really aren't our favorite, it is a tradition for us to always do something epic for them. The last movie wasn't so epic when we saw it a week later, so we wanted the last movie to go out with a bang. We planned an amazing week of a road trip and sites to see in Forks, WA. After two hours of planning, we finally decided to bag the whole idea and just go to the midnight showing. Ha ha I love that we did that.
After getting ready for the day, we hit up In-N-Out and had the best animal style burgers and fries. With sauce all over our hands and faces, we were satisfied because messy burgers are the best! With full bellies we drove to Freemont St. to have an adventure. There we walked around, checked out the Heart Attack Cafe (you have to be 350lbs to eat their free), watched a talented spray paint artist, and became part of a magic show. We actually had a really good time. Kyra ended up getting some pretty sweet souvenirs, and then we headed home to get Jason.
Picking where to eat dinner was probably the hardest decision we had to make all evening. While Jason did the research on where to eat, Kyra and I played the most intense game of speed of your life! The stakes were high with loser having to buy chocolate. We were screaming, crying from laughing to hard, and shaking from the anticipation. About an hour later the winner was decided, and so was dinner.
Have you ever eaten Thai? Well, it is amazing! We ended up going to this cute little restaurant called Prommares. It was so small with little cute tables, and a feel of eating at home. We were not disappointed when the food came out either. It was so so so good! Jason and I split our food too, and ended up having enough left over for another meal. Not to mention after eating we didn't feel weighed down. The food was really lite and healthy.
The Strip was our next stop for the night. We showed Kyra all of our favorite spots, and even discovered a few new ones, including a Godiva shop in little Italy located in the Venetian. Yum! We also saw THE BEST Bellagio fountain show of your life! It was so much better then the last time we went, and I was sad we didn't get a video of it. I loved it! Our plan was to watch a movie when we got back, but we lost track of time and at 1 am we finally made it home.
Saturday -- So... this was probably the best day we had this weekend. After breakfast (Jason made us yummy fruity pancakes. Even though they looked interesting and blue, they were so good) Kyra and I drove to Travoli Village and hit up the biggest farmer market in Vegas. That's not really saying much because it was actually really small, but we loved walking around and ended up having enough free samples to call it lunch. Kyra bought an awesome burse (book+purse check it out aburse.com) and I bought death salsa for Jason. He was in for a treat.
When we got back for Jason, we jumped in the car and headed downtown. There we saw the coolest Mob Museum, and made the crazy choice of entering. It was there they told us we had the right to an attorney. Anything we said would be held against us in a court of law. Then they and took our pictures. It was there that we learned about the history of Vegas, and extremely smart people who were into organized crime after prohibition. It was the most interesting thing ever, to learn that Vegas was run by mobsters and criminals. It also started out as a city of tents. The museum lasted us for 4 hours, and we were rushing out to catch our movie at the drive in. We completely lost track of time!
Before hitting the drive in, we grabbed some snacks and really thought we were in trouble when they searched our car. Come to find out, because what happened in Colorado, they were searching everyone's vehicle for firearms or anything that might be dangerous. We were surprised to see such a quick response to the event that happened Friday. We were also going to see The Dark Night Rises, so we were thankful that they were making sure to keep everyone safe.
The movie was incredible, and the lightening and thunder during the show made it even better. I must say I was thankful for the rain, because watching a movie outside in Vegas is so HOT! We were all sweating and turned on the a/c in the car a few times. We seriously thought we were going to bake, until the rain began to fall :) We were nice and cool in our house by 1:00 am, and everything was good.
Sunday -- We sadly drove Kyra to the airport @ 4 am, and the rest of the day tried to catch on the sleep we had missed. After 2 naps and church, we walked downstairs to find our roommate and her family. They invited us to join them for dinner, and after visiting with them for a while we decided this was a really great weekend. We did get mug shots, but hey that was just plain fun! What kinds of things did you do this weekend? Do you think we're guilty?

A Relaxing Weekend
The crazy Osborn's weren't very crazy this weekend, in fact we took it easy and had a very nice weekend.
Friday started out a little rough, when we woke up at 5am only to discovery Jason was still home and not at work. He high tailed it over to work as quickly as he could, and I was left to face another run in the rain! I have decided I love it when it rains in Vegas. Although it seems dark and is a little muggy, the best feeling is standing outside in 80 degree weather and getting wet at 5 in the morning!
I recently got a job helping a lady with her kids, and projects that she is working on through out her massive house! I usually head over in the afternoons and work until Jason gets home, but she had me working a little late to help her with preparations for a birthday party. I ended up coming home at 6pm and Jason and I were both famished!! I'm not sure why, but the hubby and I always seem to be very hungry...
Our plans were, take out from P.F Chang's and a concert in the park. So romantic and super fun, but due to the rain the concert was canceled. That's when we decided, why not just eat where the concert was supposed to be. We went to this place called The District in Henderson, and that is where we had a lovely dinner. We found a cute little table next to a tree with lights. It was very fun, and our first P.F. Chang's experience was the BOMB! It was incredible and we both really liked it.
On date nights, if we go out to dinner... desert is a must (not all the time, but this time it was)! So we looked for our wallets for gift cards to any places and scored with 2 gift cards to Cold Stone Creamery! YUM! On our way home we hit up the most popular hang out on a Friday night. I ordered a delicious chocolate peanut butter shake, and Jason (with my help and expertise) got cake batter with black cherries (I told him he should get cake batter). The perfect way to end a wonderful night.
Upon arriving at home we decided, it's Friday night and we need to do something crazy, and so began an intense game of Phase 10. We like to add our own rules and spice things up a bit when we play games together. With that we were both yawning and tired at 11pm so we hit the sack....
Saturday I was ready for the greatest adventure of my life including finger mustaches (you'll understand when you're older) and incredible memories to share. 5 am we got up, I went for my long run, Jason went to rip up the court with his amazing basketball skills and we started a productive day. My run was incredible and I really enjoyed it until about mile 8.... knee problems are always the worst and when I returned home a mile later I was sorry. My knee was in so much pain I couldn't really walk very well with out looking a little special.
Due to my injured knee, Jason took care of business with our injured car and I took a really long nap :) Not wanting to miss my time with Jason at the gym, we decided to go there when I woke up, where I could hurt my knee some more. Ha ha. The best part of our evening however, was the amazing dinner we made together!! We each picked a couple of ingredients and went on an adventure to see what we could come up with. The most amazing dinner of our lives was yet to be created.... We call it Sweet and Spicy Chicken! It changed our lives and my love for chicken...
After our incredible dinner we were in search of something exciting. With the flash flood warnings, and the cancellations of many events we did a Red Box. That my friends ended the best night in Vegas... It's funny how I always want to be doing things to make memories and have fun with my family, but the best days are when you are just happy to be with each other doing nothing. I loved spending time with Jason with out the expectation of having a life changing experience. Don't be afraid to just chill with the ones you love. You'll end up discovering that, those are the best memories you can make.

A Trip to Washington
As said earlier, my amazing Jason got me a ticket to go visit my family for the weekend. I was so excited, but at the same time not so happy about leaving my best friend. I hate spending time away from Jason for more than 12 hours. It feels so weird to be with out him, but I guess that's how it goes when you do everything together. I was so glad for the time to spend with my family.
Thursday I got a ride to the Vegas airport and couldn't believe how huge it was. After purchasing my ticket I was advised to get there about 2 hours before my flight time. I thought an hour would be plenty, but after going through security, riding a tram just to get near my gate, and finding my flight it took a full hour. I got there just as our flight started boarding. Next time I'll remember the crazy tram ride to the gate ha ha. I am proud to say too, that I got a window seat and totally wasn't afraid to look out of the window. All of this flyin is making me brave!!
My sisters met me at the airport with little Bandit (our beagle). Jason was so bummed that I was able to see his dog, and he has to wait until September to see him. I guess I've missed him a little :P Our day was pretty chill though and it was so nice to just sit and visit with my awesome family. We stayed up way past my bedtime, and even ended up sleeping on the trampoline! I loved it :) I love being with my family even if we're doing absolutely nothing!!

Sleeping on the trampoline! I love summer! |
After the wonderful temple session, my parents took my sister and I out to Bob's Burgers for lunch. YUM! I love food! I'm so glad Siehara shared a burger with me. Their burgers are huge, and although I probably could have finished one myself, I would have felt pretty crappy about stuffing my face!
After my dad went to work, we got started on operation see if dad notices. We went to Home Depot and bought paint to paint my parents' bedroom. My mom had bought new bedding and stuff earlier for the transformation. Funny thing too.... my dad only noticed the new bedding not the walls!! We finally had to tell him what we did.

After our little stop we started off on a grand mission to find me a cute, modest swimsuit. We failed miserably, but by the end of our trip we had made awesome memories. We started off with Big 5 and ended up looking at some pretty sweet shoes. Next was the Dollar Store where we found the most awesome mustache finger tattoos of your life. Winco Foods had Coconut M&Ms, which by the way I am addicted too!! AHHH I LOVE THEM!!! Costco had yummy samples and was our stop for lunch, and Walmart we discovered amazing CHOCOLATE!
Once we got home, I got a hold of my friend Danna from high school and she came over to hang with our chill family. It was so good to see her! Danna is awesome :) I love that even though I'm married, she still likes to hang out with me. We had fun catching up though and she laughed at me while I played Just Dance with my siblings (I'm not the greatest at that game).
Sunday was an interesting day. We were bummed to have to say goodbye to Siehara. She had to drive all the way back to Utah so she left really early. I decided to go to church with my little sister Kira at 1pm and go to the singles branch. All the single LDS members meet for church together, and it was really weird to me being married, but I got to see so many people I've missed that it was worth it. I was able to see some people I haven't seen in 2 or more years! It was wonderful to visit with them and find out what was going on in their lives.
After church I skyped Jason, and must say I was feelin pretty lonely for him. It's so funny how Jason has really become a part of me. I was surprised that as soon as I got to Washington I missed him like crazy. Jason is my very best friend and being with out him stinks. I have told him so many times that I will never go on a trip with out him again, yet there I was with out him. I think that married couples kind of need time away from each other though, to really realize what they have and how much the other person means to them. I love Jason so much!! I'm so glad I don't have to be with out him now :D
That night I headed over to Danna's house and we played games with some other people she knew. After playing BS and Uno we all headed outside to watch some awesome lightning! I wish it would have rained and it was really weird not to hear thunder, but it was fun to be with friends. It was also weird for Washington to feel so much like Vegas when even though the sun was down, it was still at least 90 degrees outside!!
I had a difficult time sleeping (funny how I can't really sleep with out Jason) so Monday was a little bit of a late morning. I watched Drop Dead Diva with my mom and sister and then had to say my goodbyes to my wonderful family. I was so excited to see Jason though!! I was counting down the minutes until we would be together. I would have tackled him when I saw him at the airport if he wasn't in the car. It was so nice to be back home, and be with my handsome hubby! We snuggled on the couch as soon as we got home and watched out fave movie Dan in Real Life. I love being home!

I was finally home!! |
Our next adventure will be this weekend. We might be going to St. George Utah! Either that or we'll be exploring more of wonderful Vegas :) I can hardly wait! Until then... have a great week!
